Welcome to Pitzer’s 2018-2019 Academic Year!
On behalf of the faculty, staff and administration of Pitzer College, welcome to this special community of learners. You, the students, are an integral part of what makes Pitzer a unique and important piece of the national and global higher education landscape. We look forward to being a part of your educational journey and benefitting from the contributions you will make to the college.
Another important aspect to the Pitzer experience are our shared Core Values; Social Responsibility, Intercultural Understanding, Interdisciplinary Learning, Student Engagement, and Environmental Sustainability. An important manifestation of these values is this Student Handbook. It highlights the many programs, services, resources and people who are here to support you. It also outlines the responsibilities you have agreed to by becoming a member of the Pitzer community. Please take the time to become familiar with the information in the Handbook so that you and your peers can take fullest advantage of the privilege of a Pitzer education.
You are surrounded though by people who understand the excitement and complexities of navigating through a fast moving and challenging academic career. We encourage you to seek out these folks to help you find your passions, provide you with perspective, challenge your thinking and actions, support you during the inevitable difficult days, and remind you to enjoy this journey that is a Pitzer education.
